We actively prioritize queer playwrights and playwrights of color. This festival exists because those stories are the ones most often developed and then dropped, and we would rather build the whole festival around them than add them at the end.

The rules

Guidelines

  1. 01Full-length plays only (roughly 70+ minutes). No one-acts, musicals, or screenplays this cycle.
  2. 02The play must be unproduced. Readings, workshops, and previous festival development are fine and welcome.
  3. 03Submit a PDF of the full script, a one-paragraph synopsis, a character breakdown, and a short bio.
  4. 04One script per playwright per cycle.
  5. 05Casts of eight or fewer travel best in our venues; larger casts are considered but tell us why the scale matters.
  6. 06No submission fee. We will never charge a playwright to be read.

Email your script as a PDF with the subject line SUBMISSION 2028. Include the synopsis, character breakdown, and your bio in the body of the email. We read everything.
